OUR HALLOWEEN THROWBACK

NO TRICKS, JUST ETHICAL TREATS.
This year's Halloween special wasn't just about offering our products at a lower price. Much more focus should be placed on the “spooky facts” of the fashion industry. It should show you how we, as a small fair fashion label, try to counteract the negative environmental impacts. We focused on four essential points that are probably not unknown to you: overproduction, textile waste, water waste and water pollution.
To combat the overproduction of clothing, Story of Mine only produces two collections per year - Fall | Winter and spring | Summer. Our collections consist of a maximum of 15 items of clothing, which are intended to complement our previous collections as well as a useful expansion of your wardrobe!
Since far too much textile waste accumulates anyway and the mountains of waste are getting higher and higher, we are also trying to counteract this by not throwing away sample pieces and second-choice items, but selling them cheaper. This way someone is happy about a bargain and it doesn't end up in the trash. Our returns are carefully checked, processed and offered for sale again. Damaged returns or those that do not meet our quality standards will not be disposed of but will be reused. They are either labeled and sold as second choice items, or made into scrunchies. We don't want our clothes to be thrown away and that's why we offer our lifetime quality guarantee . This means that we will repair or replace broken clothing free of charge. Our products should accompany you for a lifetime!
The enormous waste of water is a big issue in the fashion industry. A single cotton T-shirt requires over 2500 liters. Our long-standing partner in Portugal relies on a sustainable solution for production: the water used is collected, processed and reused. This keeps water waste as low as possible.
Water pollution in textile dyeing, which is one of the biggest environmental problems, was also discussed. At Story of Mine, we incorporate undyed products into our collections to minimize environmental impact. This means that the items retain the natural color of the original fiber. If we do dye, we make sure to use water-based prints or even GOTS certified colors.
We learn from day to day, improve and optimize our processes. We want to make the fashion industry a little bit better and, above all, make you feel good in our clothes!
